Veneice Guillory-Lacy’s Three Minute Thesis

The Voices of Women of Color K-12 Educational Leaders

Drawing from applied critical leadership (ACL), critical race theory (CRT) and endarkened feminist epistemology (EFE) Frameworks, I will explore how cross-cultural women of color K-12 school leaders make sense of their leadership role and practices. The focus of my research is K-12 women of color administrators, specifically school principals and superintendents, but also inclusive of curriculum directors and district office leaders. I am hopeful that my research will offer future women of color K-12 administrators a deeper understanding of what it means to be a woman of color school leader in a predominately cis-white male position.
