Practicing Reflective Teaching with AI-powered App: Experiences from ESL/EFL Educators

ESL teachers play a crucial role in facilitating students’ English language acquisition. The effectiveness of their instruction directly influences students’ language learning outcomes. Constructive feedback is essential for teachers to continuously refine their teaching methods, leading to increased student engagement and comprehension. In recent years, AI-powered applications have demonstrated promise in delivering automated feedback across various domains, including education. This research study investigates the potential benefits of integrating such technology into ESL teaching practices.

Mazen is a Ph.D. student in the LLT program at WSU, College of Education. Mazen serves as an academic advisor at the Carson College of Business. His current research focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence to support educators’ reflective practice, particularly in language teaching. His academic interests are AI in Education, EdTech, Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), and Teacher Education. Beyond academia, Mazen has a keen interest in entrepreneurship, international business, and Tourism.
