How to minimize the seductive details effect in multimedia learning
Research on learning with worked examples accompanied by self-explaining in multimedia-based environments has grown over the past few decades. However, less than adequate attention has been received on learning worked examples when seductive details are encountered. Thus, given that seductive details are expected everywhere in today’s learning environments, it is necessary to examine the seductive details effect in worked-example-based multimedia learning and the effect of focused self-explanation on seductive details.
