Jocelyn Glessing’s Three Minute Thesis

Effective screening necessary to prevent progression of CKD

Chronic kidney disease is a devastating illness affecting millions of people worldwide. Early interventions can help prevent disease progression. Early screening for high-risk patients can help initiate earlier interventions.

Jocelyn is a doctorate of nursing student at WSU Vancouver. She also graduated from WSU in 2014 with dual bachelors degrees in human development and nursing. The focus of her graduate research has been preventing or delaying the progression of chronic kidney disease. She will graduate in May, and plans to work as a nurse practitioner in primary care. She is married with seven children.
