Kent Godfrey’s Three Minute Thesis

Multisensory Music

Deaf and autistic people lack full access to the myriad benefits of music. The problem is that many people mistakenly think that music is an exclusively auditory thing. However, by connecting such as the natural sciences, cross-modal correspondences, and music cognition this research demonstrates that humans experience music through multiple senses. The result of this research is strong theoretical support for teaching music to Deaf and autistic people through various senses.
